My philosophy
I provide personal service for a reasonable fee. If done correctly, bankruptcy is a simple, non-adversarial process. I focus on planning ahead and filing cases in such a way that they are successfully completed with no litigation or disputes.
My staff and I recognize that financial problems cause stress and anxiety. Psychologists say that unmanageable debt and harassment by creditors can cause the same level of stress as divorce or a death in the family. Debt problems are even more troubling because you may feel alone with the problem, without the same support from family and friends as for other difficult life events. Much of the stress is due to uncertainty - not knowing what the creditors will do to collect. In most cases, bankruptcy ends the worry and confusion.
I represent my clients with these ideals in mind. A broad perspective towards the client's life situation is necessary to properly advise clients about consumer bankruptcy. Bankruptcy is not a personal failure. It's a fresh start, and one that is well within your rights. Creditors have lawyers who advise them on their rights, and creditors make business decisions to sue, refer to collection agents or pursue other creditor rights. You should not hesitate to learn your legal rights and make similar business decisions.
